Weather-Ready Nation Ambassadors Monitor Storms in Otter Tail County
SERVPRO® of Douglas & Otter Tail Counties has restored storm damage in New York Mills for years. We know that our fast emergency response time saves our customers money by minimizing the potential for secondary damage in many cases. The County of Otter Tail’s website encourages residents to become Weather-Ready Nation Ambassadors for the National Weather Service (NWS). Here is some information on becoming a Storm Spotter:
Become a Storm Spotter under the NWS SKYWARN Program
Help keep your community safe by volunteering to become a trained severe storm spotter for the National Weather Service. Storm spotters report hazardous weather to the NWS, which aids the warning process. NWS meteorologists train volunteers to identify and describe severe local storms, including severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, and floods. Interested? Contact County Emergency Manager Patrick Waletzko – also an NWS SKYWARN instructor for NWS Grand Forks.
For information on other Weather-Ready Nation Ambassadors volunteer programs, you can visit the County’s website.
